Park Clean-up Day
Mother's day weekend is your chance to give a little back to Mother Earth with the Great Wilderness Clean-up. We've been cleaning up Algonquin Park ever since the 1960's. This annual event brings dozens of volunteers together for a one day blitz to help make our park a better place to camp, hike and canoe.
This event runs all day, starting with a gathering at the Wolfden Bunk House. Algonquin Park staff provides everyone with garbage bags, work gloves and free park passes for the day. We then head over to our Oxtongue Lake store to pick up Free rentals on aluminum canoes to help with cleaning up the lakes, rivers and paddle up camp sites. It's a whole day of cleaning up Algonquin Park. Many of us participate in challenges to see who is able to remove the most garbage, or who finds the most unique item. The day comes to a conclusion with a BBQ pot luck dinner at the Wolfden bunkhouse and some prizes are handed out. Includes
